Student Uniforms
LSMV requires all students to wear uniforms. Uniform attire consists of white shirts/ blouses and navy blue bottoms. The school uniform policy and attire details are provided below and in the Student Parent Handbook given to each family at the beginning of the school year. Copies of the policy are also provided at the time of enrollment.
SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY
Students are expected to come to school neat, well groomed and in complete uniform, beginning on the first day of school. The school uniform for both young men and women is as follows:
White, turtle neck or collared shirt or blouse with navy blue pants, shorts, skirts or a jumper. Red or navy blue rugby shirts with the school logo may be purchased and substituted for the white shirt.
Students are expected to take pride in their appearance including keeping shirts tucked in with all slacks/shorts/skirts/skorts worn at the waistline with belts buckled. Undershirts worn under the uniform shirt must be solid white (no printing or pictures). No commercial logos, or other designs, only the school logo, may be on clothing.
Any student not in proper uniform will be dealt with according to our school discipline policy. A student not in uniform will be sent to the school office. Parents/Guardians will be notified. If the student returns to school not in uniform after being notified, the parents/guardians will be asked to bring uniform clothing to school or the student will be sent home.
Boy Scout/Cub Scout or Girl Scout/Brownie uniforms may be worn on day of official meeting. School Spirit Days will have a dress theme. Students must follow that theme or wear a school uniform. Teachers will give directions for suitable wear on field trips.
We do not permit short-shorts, extremely short skirts, halter-tops, tops with spaghetti straps, muscle shirts, sandals, or hats. We do not permit T-shirts without the Lutheran School logo. Make-up and or nail polish are not to be worn by students. No excessive jewelry will be permitted and no jewelry should be worn on physical education class days. Shirts and blouses must have a collar and be tucked in at the waist. Belts must be worn when pants, shorts, or skirts have belt loops. Hair must be well groomed. It is the parental obligation and responsibility to check the choice of clothing being worn by their children before they leave home.
NOTE: The principal reserves the right to make final decisions on
matters concerning appearance, and the Uniform Policy.
